19 Jun #MoistPlaces: Tattoo
Hello people of the world! I’m Oyinkan Agboola (I know my name shows above) but since we are friends you can call me Yin of LL 😉
I have two segments on Lucid Lemons; Lucid Interviews and Moist Places. For last six months, I have been putting a lot of attention on ‘Lucid Interviews’ speaking to artists like AT Merari, Olú, Jazzz and Creative writer, Cisi Eze.
From today, I would like to announce the commencement of #MoistPlaces, a segment where I talk about love through a word one might not expect affection to be channeled through. With this in mind, I present to you the first piece from my most Moist Places.
- The act or practice of marking the skin with indelible patterns, pictures, legends, etc., by making punctures in it and inserting pigments.
- A pattern, picture, legend, etc., so made.
- A knocking or strong pulsation
I cannot explain the inexplicable urge to mark my skin with you
To inscribe you on me with my blood as ink like a prayer on sand
A constant reminder that a beauty like you exists
An attempt to put god in flesh.
I carry a picture of you inside my mind
I am no artist but I can trace out your every curve
On a piece of paper. On my heart.
An image that could never fade.
I hear pounding in my head
Like a migraine
Like a heartbeat
No. It’s just you.
