08 Jul Introduction: Tea With Princess
I think the last time I wrote an introduction to a blog post was sometime in 2013. It’s been over 5 years since I created my first blog and almost 2 years since my last blog post.
Within that time, unsurprisingly, a lot about my life, beliefs, interests and style of writing have completely changed. Before I officially welcome you to my new blogspace, I want to say a big thank you to everyone who supported my former blog – all the people who shared, left comments and have even checked up on it within the last few years, it really means so much that you guys genuinely care and believe/share in my passion. If you’re here from my former blog, leave a comment below so I can thank you guys properly.
Now on the new – WELCOME TO TEA WITH PRINCESS! I’m literally shouting that because I’m so thrilled that this has finally launched and I can’t wait for you guys to embark on this new journey with me. I have planned, prayed, laughed, cried, smiled and stressed over this for so long and honestly it feels damn good to see it’s finally here! Before I get too into TWP, I think it’s only right to properly introduce myself to some of the newbies and give my old gang a brief life update.
My name is Princess Onyinye Okoh, but I prefer to go by Princess because my traditional name has been subject to misspellings and mispronunciations since I was little. I am 20. Height: 5ft6. Weight: Cannot be stated at this time but I’ll update you guys as we go
I recently concluded my undergraduate degree in Law LLB from the University of Nottingham, UK. Currently waiting to graduate. Being that Law has been my life over the last three years, it is solely responsible for taking me away from putting out beautiful content for you guys, but now that’s it done, expect to be bombarded! Jk jk, I’m going to Nigerian Law School next but I’ll do my best.
I generally refer to myself as a creative, mainly because I’ve grown to hate boxes, titles and restrictions. I guess you could say my life is somewhat interesting – sometimes there’s loads of drama going on, other times it’s really boring and uneventful, but I promise to do a lot of story telling and life updates on here, so I’ll fill you guys in with the drama whenever it happens.
I think that’s enough about me. You’ll find out more as we go. Oh wait! I forgot to mention that I’m also the Chief Operating Officer of Lucid Lemons which is a really cool website, hence why I chose this as an ideal temporary space for my posts before we move to the permanent site. So when you’re done reading this, you should definitely check out some other cool stuff on the site.
Why ‘Tea with Princess’?
I’ll be completely honest, the name is totally random. I was trying to come up with a really cool name that could have a nice abbreviation and this just popped up. I hated it at first and then tried to fit it into the idea I had for content and it worked so I stuck with it. Now for the interview answer – Let me give you a scenario: Imagine you just woke up from a short but beautiful Sunday afternoon nap, which came after a nice meal of Jollof rice or rice and stew (Or swallow – I don’t discriminate). It’s still too early to start preparing for the week ahead and you’re bored and generally unwilling to do anything too serious. Yup, that’s me and about 85% of people on Sunday evenings. You want to read something but nothing too thought provoking, something that will keep you laughing or smiling or just in a goodish mood, something easily relatable and something that makes you look forward to things and even inspire future plans – Well, that’s where TWP comes in.
What to Expect?
Everything relating to lifestyle – food, travel, fitness, faith, mental health, life hacks, the list is honestly endless. Anything that could potentially affect or influence your lifestyle? I could deffo write about it. Although I’m going to try my best to cover a variety of content, all my foodies and food lovers should be particularly excited because there’ll be a lot of food/restaurant reviews, new recipes and all that good stuff.
Oh and I really love hearing from you guys, so please don’t be a stranger to the comment section – drop feedback and make suggestions on things I can write about. One more thing to expect…
…is a post every Sunday evening lol, so I’m hoping that most of you will spend your Sunday evenings reading my new posts while sipping on some tea or juice. Yes lol, I know how cliché that sounds.
Anyways, that’s it for today’s post. I hope this has helped to set the scene of what to expect from TWP.
